Undocumented non neighbor gifting Bug/Feature[]
I wrote the following but removed it as it no longer works. It is retained here in case the feature is restored in the future (unlikely IMHO):
A popular but unsupported feature for gifting allows players to request gifts from non neighbors. For example, in messages on Facebook, email or blog postings devoted to Frontierville, it is not uncommon to see notes like the following:
"In desperate need of a feedbag. If you have an extra, please send by clicking this link: http://apps.facebook.com/frontierville/gifts.php?giftRecipient=123456789
To use this feature, replace the id number (123456789 in the example) with your user id. Your Facebook user ID may be found by clicking your Profile tab in facebook, and copying down the 9 digit number found at the end of the URL in the browser's address bar.
Some fan blogs strongly discourage users from posting such notes in unrelated threads and ask that gift requests instead be posted in a central thread devoted to them.
